Head removal, crack test and pressure test, skim if within tolerance, valve grinding and seat reconditioning, new stem seals, head gasket, and re-timing. Estimated labour: UGX 400,000–700,000.
Block decking, bore measurement and honing or re-boring, new piston rings or oversized pistons, new con-rod and main bearings, thrust washers, oil pump and seals. Labour: UGX 800,000–1,500,000.
Complete teardown, inspection, and rebuild of all components — combining top and short block overhaul. New timing belt/chain kit, water pump, all gaskets and seals. Run-in procedure post-build.
Specialist heavy diesel overhaul — liner replacement, crankshaft grinding or replacement, bearing alignment, injector sleeve replacement, turbo feed lines. Labour: UGX 1,500,000–3,000,000.
