Gearbox Overhaul
Gearbox failures are the second most common major fault in Uganda's corporate fleet — caused by deferred ATF services, overloading, and mechanical wear. Avoo Motors rebuilds both manual and automatic transmissions.
Manual gearbox full rebuild
Full disassembly, bearing and synchromesh replacement, gear shaft inspection, case crack check, new seals throughout. Light vehicle: UGX 350,000–600,000 labour. Heavy truck: UGX 800,000–1,500,000.
Auto-transmission full rebuild
ATF flush, torque converter overhaul, clutch pack replacement, valve body clean and rebuild, solenoid pack replacement, new filter and pan gasket, TCU adaptation via diagnostic tool. Labour: UGX 600,000–1,000,000.
Transfer case rebuild
4WD transfer case disassembly, chain or gear train inspection, bearing and seal replacement, mode fork and shift actuator, rebuild and re-oil. Labour: UGX 400,000–700,000.
Differential rebuild
Crown and pinion set replacement or shimming, carrier bearing replacement, axle seal replacement, backlash and preload set to specification, oil refill and road test.
