Tools & Equipment
Avoo Motors' tool store holds all hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, safety equipment, and consumable supplies used in workshop operations. Every tool is registered in the stores log, assigned to a responsible technician or department, and checked in/out on a daily log. Tools are inspected quarterly and replaced or repaired if condition falls below safe working standard.
Equipment by Category
Diagnostic equipment
Advanced Diagnostic Machine (OBD/ECU multi-brand), laptop for software updates, USB diagnostic cables, backup DTC code reader. Diagnostics bay. Annual software update from supplier, quarterly calibration check.
Lifting — major
2 Heavy Duty Hydraulic Stands, a Movable 2-Stand Jack Lift, and an 800kg Heavy Load Moving Tray, across all mechanical bays. Hydraulic stands load-tested annually with rated capacity marked.
Lifting — minor
28 units total — bottle jacks, vehicle safety stands, and additional car stands across all workshop bays. Visual inspection before each use; damaged stands removed immediately.
Power tools
Electric impact wrenches, soldering gun, rivet gun, hot air gun, glue gun — mechanical and electrical bays. PAT tested annually, power cords inspected monthly, earthing confirmed.
Compressor & air tools
ARC welding machine and a 120L compressor with air line and fittings — fabrication and paint bay. Compressor pressure vessel certified annually, relief valve tested quarterly.
Wrenches & spanners
60+ units — hex key sets, Torx sets, adjustable wrenches, T-bar handles, and a complete ring/ratchet range across all workshop bays. Visual inspection on return; damaged tools quarantined.
Measuring instruments
Fibreglass measuring tape, vernier caliper, squares, spirit levels, and tape measures for fabrication and diagnostics. Vernier caliper calibration checked against a gauge block every 6 months.
Safety PPE
29 items — safety gloves, goggles, helmets, welding face shields, and chain padlocks issued personally across all bays. PPE inspected before issue; HV gloves for hybrid work stored separately.
Fabrication accessories
Magnetic welding holders, wire brush sets, 34 table rollers, rivet packs, angle brackets, and tapping screws in the fabrication bay. Welding holders checked for magnetic strength quarterly.
Vehicle washing
A 300 PSI vehicle wash machine with hose fittings and nozzle set at the workshop entrance. Pressure tested quarterly with monthly hose inspection.
Power backup
A 220V power backup system at the main workshop switchboard. Battery capacity tested quarterly; automatic changeover tested monthly.
Rigging & recovery
16 items — steel tow ropes, tie belts with hooks, ropes, and oilers for recovery and workshop use. Tow ropes inspected and load-tested annually.
Tool Check-Out & Accountability System
All tools above a specified value or with calibration requirements are logged in the Avoo Motors tool register. Every morning at workshop opening, department leads confirm their tool inventory. Any missing or damaged tool is reported immediately to the Workflow Manager. Tools are not permitted to leave the workshop premises without Managing Director approval.\n\nEach lead technician is accountable for tools assigned to their bay. Lost tools are replaced at the technician's expense after a formal investigation — a policy that has maintained a zero-loss tool record since the workshop opened in August 2022.
